A complete musical work for fifteen voices in three movements — l'arpège, l'accord, le silence — built live in your browser. Each plate carries one voice. The voices have characters: bell, pad, string, and bass — assigned by register. The piece walks the chord, builds it, lets it ring, and lets it go. Une étude. A study, sounding.

I · L'ARPÈGE the arpeggio. Each voice enters in series order — D3 ascending to D5 — one note at a time, ~0.7 seconds apart. The body assembles itself. 0:00 — 0:11

II · L'ACCORD the chord. All fifteen voices arrive simultaneously. The chord rings out, sustained on a long reverb, panned across the stereo field. 0:11 — 0:18

III · LE SILENCE the silence. The voices drop out one by one, descending. The reverb tail decays. A breath of silence. Then the étude begins again. 0:18 — 0:28

Each plate has a voice character. The lowest five plates (D3 — A3) sing through a slow-attack pad, like a string section bowing in. The middle five (B3 — F#4) ring through a clean triangle wave, the voicing's spine. The highest five (G4 — D5) glint through a bell-like FM tone, the chord's brightness. Same fifteen plates. Three timbres.

The étude is a working answer to the question Plate XIII asks of any practice: what does the body sound like? Specimen 045 rendered the corpus as light. Specimen 046 sounded the chord. This is the corpus, in motion.
